I have a huge desire to win. That is why I am aggressive in a positive sense on the field.

When I was a child, that really was in my mind, to play for a great club like Liverpool.

I was determined to become a footballer, not only because I loved the game but so I could provide for my family.

Firstly, before every game, I always speak with my mum. She really encourages me a lot. Then, once I'm out on the field, I say a little prayer for my team and for everyone on the field, both sides, so that nothing bad happens, no-one gets injured.

I will always be thankful for the education I had at Salzburg. I needed to learn about the tactics of football, how the game worked, and that is what the club gave me, so I was ready for the next level when I got to Leipzig.

Salzburg improved me as a player, and I learnt so much there. I got a really tactical education.

When I used to play against Bayern, Xabi Alonso always used to give me a really hard time. He was so experienced... he made me suffer. The way he'd keep switching play just meant that you could never stop running. He was very intelligent.

When I was young, I told my parents, 'I promise you I'm going to play in the Champions League, and for my first match, I'll invite you to come and watch me play.' Luckily, I was able to do that, and I was very happy. It was a moment of pride.

I've been told by many people that a lot of overseas players come into the Premier League, and they take time to integrate, depending on the circumstances.

The Premier League is different to other leagues where I have played, and everybody knows it is very tough, but I will do my best to beat my own personal records - I'm very motivated.
