When I was in the GB Women's football team at the 2012 Olympics, it was obvious who was in the first XI and who was making up the numbers. Kelly Smith was going to be first-choice striker no matter what, and the other forwards in the squad mentally checked out as a result.

Sure, I do feel I am an ambassador for women's football. But that hasn't changed. It's been like that since I started at eight years old. I'm still me.

We don't really compare ourselves to the men's game or what they do. For us, it's about trying to get more people involved in the women's games.

Women are the same. We watch football; we play football. Why wouldn't we be out there giving our opinions on the sport ,too?

I've always said it, and the whole football world knows that Cavani is a centre-forward and that he has proven his worth in that position. Having said that, Cavani has shown other characteristics that can help the team, like winning the ball back, helping out defensively.

I know when it's time to joke and when it's time to be serious. As far as football goes, I'm serious.

You know how much money I could have made playing professional football as a tight end? But I can't jump, and I can't run fast. That was my problem.

The growth of the KHL is a very important aspect for the development of Russian sports.
