What you need to be a good photographer is an overwhelming curiosity and a good digestion. Sometimes you feel blessed with curiosity, sometimes you feel cursed with it.

What drove me and kept me going over the decades? If I had to use a single word, it would be 'curiosity.'

I find going back through things sometimes exhilarating because I find things I didn't know I had, and sometimes it's very off putting because there are things I never quite finished, and there's nothing at all to do about it now.

If a photographer cares about the people before the lens and is compassionate, much is given.

To pursue a career in Hollywood you have to have a personality bypass. Look at the top 20 stars in the world - there's probably only two actors among them. Hollywood's not about you as an actor. It's about your currency, what you 'bring to the table'. And I've never been one to jump through hoops for anyone.

I have endorsed every hair product in my career. Looks have been my bread, butter, jam. Looks are important in our society.

Throughout my career, I've been someone who's led... and solved problems we had.

At the time I retired I was kind of known for it, as one of the guys whose career ended technically as a result of a big hit.
