I always enjoyed art history because, growing up in California, my exposure was limited, and it was a new experience. To learn the history of art opened up certain things to me, made me see. It intrigued me.

Even though I didn't get a business degree, I enjoyed learning about economics.

I'd go down to the end of my street, to a garage that had a certain feeling about it, or a particular light; I'd take a picture of a friend who needed a head shot. That's how I learned, instead of having school assignments and learning camera techniques.

I like form and shape and strength in pictures.

In life, you have to weigh everything up, even when they are just decisions about your career.

Retaining a sense of control is really important. I like to do things in my own time, and in my own style, so an office with targets and bureaucracy just wouldn't work.

I am happy with my career.

Hopefully, one day I'll get to play for Sheffield United in the Premier League; hopefully, that's a dream that can come true. They put a lot of faith in me, and hopefully I can finish my career there, just to say thank you.
