When I was a kid, I wanted to be a boy. I really had gender issues.

I think a little tidbit I can give you is that I grew up with basically everything handed to me, except for my career. I worked for that.

No one's just going to hand you a career. I waited for years for someone to hand me one and it never happened.

If you're doing an animated comedy on the same channel as 'South Park,' no one can really tell you anything. The bar has been set so high.

I listened to this interview once with Jerry Seinfeld that really influenced my comedy and all of my writing, which is that when you're starting out in comedy, it's the audience that tells you what's funny about you. And you need to listen to that and make a note of that.

People like light and silly, and they like stuff that's really energetic, and you get a character in a film bouncing around and screaming, people laugh. That's all it takes. I don't find that funny. To me, what's funny is dialogue and nuance of character and performance.

I do a lot of public speaking and presentations and I'll always start with a self-deprecating joke to make everybody feel comfortable with my size because there can be hang-ups and anxieties.
