In certain professions, you can love your profession; you can do it in a very professional way and do it wonderfully, but you do not have this possibility to communicate with others - I express myself singing, and I think this is a real luxury.

It is important to be passionate, but it is also important to combine the heart and the head. I have made mistakes in both my private and professional lives.

If I can do concert recitals, adapting the repertoire to my needs, then no problem, that's good enough. But with operas, unless the right circumstances come up, my career is done.

Music isn't only a profession.

Everybody in my family cooks, so growing up and being around it... if I was going to spend time with everybody, it was helping them in the kitchen.

Tennis is all about mental toughness, and you have to keep your head in the game. I make time to relax away from competition pressures, travel and intense training schedules to make sure I'm looking after myself. Taking time out with family and friends helps to maintain the work-life balance everyone needs.

Skype is a wonderful invention. It might be my favorite thing because I get to see my family and the ones that you love.

When you fight to give your family bread, that's not passion anymore: that's conviction.
