I'm a woman, but I've been a sexist, too.

A good novel doesn't just transcend the boundaries of its target market - it knows nothing about target markets.

As a writer, my main objective is to tell the story urgently - as if whispering it into one ear - and to know the characters intimately.

I write across genres so I see them, more often, as complementary instead of separated by boundaries.

By reading the scriptures I am so renewed that all nature seems renewed around me and with me. The sky seems to be a pure, a cooler blue, the trees a deeper green. The whole world is charged with the glory of God and I feel fire and music under my feet.

I begin each day with prayer and meditation. Throughout the day, I use affirmations and positive intentions to move through blocks, and each evening, I close the day with self-reflection and an inventory of my growth throughout the day.

I couldn't get that same feeling during the day, with my hands in dirty dish water and the hard sun showing up the dirtiness on the roof tops. And after a time, even at night, the feeling of God didn't last.

I dream of being champion and dream going out as champion. That's my biggest motivation.
