I spent so many years just saying what I felt without thinking about the ramifications, without understanding that I have this opinion but not everyone might share that opinion and now they don't like me because of it.

I think that everybody has a right to their own thoughts, their own feelings and their own private moments, if they want them.

In my career, I'm very grateful for the opportunities.

Obviously my career's important to me and I'm really, really passionate about trying to keep it.

I married a university professor, raised a son, and worked as an academic librarian. My husband and I moved to the Ozarks, bought a farm, and started a commercial beekeeping business. And divorced.

Because we live so much of our adult lives as singles, it no longer makes sense to assume that marriage is the only way people will organize their obligations and commitments.

Our sister Alma was the best hitter in the family. We used to soak corn cobs in water so they wouldn't fly so far when we hit 'em. Alma was the first to hit one far enough to break a window in the barn.

My family is from Russia and Poland. We never had that thing with the German Jews.
