Baseball wasn't necessarily my first sport in terms of liking it. I'd never played baseball or softball growing up.

I was a tomboy growing up, so I think I naturally take on a little male swagger.

I think pressure is good. Just watching my brother and my dad be professional athletes, I think pressure has driven them and has caused them to excel more.

In terms of being a vessel for female empowerment and a role model for young girls, I take it on gladly and seriously, but I hope people remember that I'm just a regular person, and I'm not going to be perfect.

I had a totally different upbringing, totally different background, raised in Germany, small town, now I am in London taking care of 180 kids who think they are the one percent who can make it in professional football.

I'm a tennis fan, so I like Roger Federer. He's always two or three steps ahead, so he's hitting a shot, but he's also thinking about the next two shots. So I try to be in that frame of mind - to always be ahead.

It is difficult to give time to develop projects in football. You buy the club, and you want the title after three months.

When some people were going around being surf bums and tennis bums, I was being a gallery bum. I really liked galleries.
