In the year since we brought things into the open with a clean breath of fresh air at City Hall, we have learned about corrupt spending practices and unethical conflicts of interest that waste your money... and keep Dallas from being the great city of our dreams.

It's wasteful spending like this that not only forces tax increases and cuts in vital services... but also really make you wonder: who is City Hall looking out for?

Others like City Hall the old way, when they could make deals behind closed doors with your tax money.

If there's one thing I hope people are certain of it's this: I'm looking out for YOU - the taxpayer.

Most creative work is a process of people passing ideas and inspirations from the past into the future and adding their own creativity along the way.

I was always most interested in drawing - most of my childhood drawings are black-and-white line work. And when I kind of abandoned comics, through college and art school, I was doing a lot of painting. But once I started doing comics again, everything else just fell by the wayside.

Republicans are right to express concern about excessive regulation, and they can do a lot to reduce it, above all by scrutinizing rules on the books and by putting all new proposals through a cost-benefit filter. There's room for plenty of creativity here.

When I'm working on one book, part of my imagination is thinking ahead to the next one.
