The president of CBS handpicked me for the 'Star Search' revival, which Arsenio Hall hosted. He picked 12 comics, and I was the only female. I always look to that as inspiration.

Really, it hasn't changed for female comics; it's still hard for females to really enter the game.

That's the one thing I have to say to females. If you don't have a certain look, or if you look a certain way, they won't accept you.

If you think about how many headlining female comics are out there, you could say 15, maybe 20?

I get DMs all the time: kids who don't know how to come out to their parents, parents who don't know how to deal with their kids who are gay. I try to give the best advice I can.

Ripping children away from their parents has a particular shameful history, both in this country and around the world.

I feel that people should have a license to have children, that they have proper education how to raise children. And that nobody should be allowed to be a parent unless they can prove that they are competent enough to be a parent.

Children are smarter than any of us. Know how I know that? I don't know one child with a full time job and children.
