There's a lot of insecure, sad people in any profession.

Often audiences vary... but I've always found Milwaukee to be a fabulous place to play with great audiences and very hip.

I've never done an improvised movie as a fictitious character. I think that's the challenge.

A poet can feel free, in my estimation, to write a poem for himself. Or a painter can paint a painting for himself. You can write a short story for yourself. But for me, comedy by its nature is communal. If other people don't get it, I'm not sure why you are doing it.

It feels bad to play a bad guy. I did George W. Bush for years, and I hated him. But you have to give full voice to the villains. You have to have really convincing villains, or it's not worth anything as drama or comedy.

I have done comedy and romance. So I thought why not try negative roles too.

Even when I go do comedy stuff live, I can still feel the drummer in me about to go onstage.
