Black, white, rural, urban, Democrat, Republican, independent. People who come from both ends of the socio-economic spectrum. Male, female. Young and old alike. This is our Kentucky.

There's not one person in this state who believes they are going to have a job in my administration... There's not one person who I've promised anything to.

Have you ever been offered a job by a poor person? No one has.

I always said... I want to be the one who creates jobs. I want to be the guy who develops the wealth of the nation.

In 2005, I founded the Democratic Pacific Union, an international organization of 28 democratic countries to promote democracy, peace and prosperity in the Pacific region.

It is my determination that we, as a party, continue to make that fundamental restatement of liberal values in the politics of our country.

I spent my whole life in the private sector, 25 years in the private sector. I understand that when government takes more money out of the hands of people, it makes it more difficult for them to buy things. If they can't buy things, the economy doesn't grow. If the economy doesn't grow, we don't put Americans to work.

Government can contribute to a shared sense of purpose on the part of the citizenry; that's its highest and best application.
