Growing up, we had 30, 40, 50 people coming through the house some Thanksgivings. Sometimes there was a kids' table; other times, the plate was just sitting on your lap. You get in where you fit in at that house.

If your kids see what you eat, they will probably eat it, too. I'm not going to use the old-school policy of what my mother did and say to my kids, 'Well, if you are hungry enough, you will eat what I put on the table!' I think my kids have an understanding that if they see what their parents do, they should follow, too.

We're our own worst enemy. You doubt yourself more than anybody else ever will. If you can get past that, you can be successful.

My ultimate goal is for that next generation coming up, who didn't see me play, go, 'Oh, he used to play football?'

Sport is a great way to keep fit. It's a stress reliever.

That's football. It's like in any walk of life: you get some people who are going to try more than others.

You've got to be fit to box. In football, if you need a breather, your team-mate can take over. There's no one in the ring to help out.

I really didn't want to play basketball for the longest time, but I just wouldn't stop growing. But I always wanted to be a professional soccer player.
