One of the main things I said in my job interview was that I want to develop female coaches.

I'm going to prove I can coach in the women's game and prove I can manage an England team to success.

I had a good football intelligence. I didn't need 10 games to get used to a position. I could go out and do a job.

From facing a manager for the past 16 years to suddenly being the one person everyone is looking at is a daunting prospect. It's something I want to be prepared for. If I get the opportunity, I don't want to let myself down.

Have I done more business-related things to help my career grow? Yeah. I took the business end more seriously, hooked up with a manager, got some help, because at a certain point, you get frustrated when you go do auditions, and people say you did a great job, and then you don't get he part.

I've arrived at the place if I'm not taking a career risk, I'm not happy. If I'm scared, then I know I'm being challenged.

Most everything I do on a creative level is beyond the fame and money. I sort of work as an actor... and take care of my family and mouths to feed and all of that. I don't really care about fame, but our business means money sometimes and financial success, which I can pass on to my family.

I was lucky to book a show pretty quickly after getting to L.A., but I struggled getting started in Vancouver. If I had gotten those earlier roles in Vancouver, I wouldn't have gone to L.A. to get the show that launched my career.
