Feminism is, I hope, a way to a better future for everyone who inhabits this world. Feminism should not be something that needs a seductive marketing campaign. The idea of women moving through the world as freely as men should sell itself.

I support anything that broadens the message of gender equality and tempers the stigma of the feminist label. We run into trouble, though, when we celebrate celebrity feminism while avoiding the actual work of feminism.

This is the real problem feminism faces. Too many people are willfully ignorant about what the word means and what the movement aims to achieve.

In truth, I don't care about making feminism more accessible to anyone.

When we automated away the elevator operator function, who knew that all the descendants of those operators would become social media marketers, machine learning engineers, and all these other jobs that we didn't even have a language to describe back then.

When you have a large amount of data that is labeled so a computer knows what it means, and you have a large amount of computing power, and you're trying to find patterns in that data, we've found that deep learning is unbeatable.

Inexpensive phones and pay-as-you go services are already spreading mobile phone technology to many parts of that world that never had a wired infrastructure.
