You might not remember what you had for dinner last night, but you remember everything about one particular summer of your youth. It's like that.

No one's memory is infallible, of course - quite the opposite.

You write about experiences partly to understand what they mean, partly not to lose them to time. To oblivion. But there's always the danger of the opposite happening. Losing the memory of the experience itself to the memory of writing about it.

It's true that if you cry hard enough for long enough, you can end up with blurred vision.

So the history of discovery, particularly cosmic discovery, but discovery in general, scientific discovery, is one where at any given moment, there's a frontier. And there tends to be an urge for people, especially religious people, to assert that across that boundary, into the unknown, lies the handiwork of God. This shows up a lot.

I feel like my message is to let people know that God is a good God, that He's on their side, and no matter what happens, He has a great plan for them.

We live like we are on a pleasure cruise, when we are really on a rescue mission from God.

Each generation faces different issues and challenges, but our standard must always be measured by God's word.
