I never wanted to model myself on a female singer, which tells you a lot about my character. I didn't have a female role model. There just wasn't anybody around. I played with the boys and beat them at their own game.

I don't really think about male and female; if something's right for me, it's right for me, and it doesn't matter what it is - maybe that's what it took for me, a woman, to break down the doors.

I was a me-ist. I believed in the right to do whatever I wanted to do regardless of gender. Still do.

I am flattered to have been the woman to have opened the door for female rockers to be accepted into the mainly male industry.

My mom ending up passing away, and I got really depressed and didn't have money for therapy, and so I started doing standup to cope with my mom's death.

If you wanna make money in music, you're better off being on the business end of it a lot of the time. And also as a musician, if you do make money, it means you had to bite and scratch and kick the whole way to not get ripped off, because at every corner, there's somebody there waiting to trip you up and take a bigger chunk.

I really came out to L.A. to take the money and run.

I said to my wife that if I had enough money I'd have my arms lengthened. Slightly longer arms would be great.
