This is a new year. A new beginning. And things will change.

I still have mixed feelings about what growing up is - this thing that happens to everyone, so I've heard.

When I was growing up in Pennsylvania, auditioning for Broadway was my dream.

I've never thought about songwriting as a weapon. I've only thought about it as a way to help me get through love and loss and sadness and loneliness and growing up.

I'm happy that I know how to speak 'Southern.' I spent a lot of time in Alabama throughout my life. I even lived there for part of junior high and high school, so I learned the true beauty and mastery of the Southern dialect. 'Y'all' is one of the greatest and most useful words ever invented.

Difficult times always create opportunities for you to experience more love in your life.

I think it's useful to experience other types of dance and other cultures, and the life of a classical dancer these days is certainly not all tutus! So experience of other dance forms is a good idea.

My album, 'No Shame,' will give my fans an extremely real and heartfelt experience of what I have been going through in my personal life.
