I came to Washington understanding what the Senate is capable of accomplishing and knowing that I'd have myriad opportunities as a senator to get things done.

I think that women are often underestimated - our suggestions, our advice, our leadership style. I think one of the reasons that that happens is women are much less likely to blow their own horn and brag about everything that they've done.

You know, sometimes I think people in politics are always looking for the next job and the next opportunity. And frankly, that's just not the way I'm wired.

I was appointed to the Senate, and it has been my job to serve in the Senate and then to earn the vote of Minnesotans.

So, it becomes an exercise in futility if you write something that does not express the film as the director wishes. It's still their ball game. It's their show. I think any successful composer learns how to dance around the director's impulses.

Once my doctor began treating my kidney disease, my greatest challenge was the constant exhaustion. Fortunately, my doctor explained that anemia was causing my exhaustion and that people with serious illnesses, like kidney disease, may be at increased risk for anemia.

We will continue to do all we can to protect the public health against these dietary supplements that have been found to cause serious illness and injury.

When I inspire myself, I want to spread the word because its important to be healthy. I don't think they're teaching us enough about that. I think we should eat better and exercise. Look who's saying that - a guy who was 300 pounds - but I'm doing a lot better than I used to. I'm letting people know its important because it makes you feel better.
