When I was about 17 or 18, I finally admitted to myself that I wasn't going to change. I didn't know what the consequences would be, but I had the definite feeling that it was going to wreck my Disney career.

I consider my teenage years as being desperately unhappy.

After I was fired from Disney, I did some of the worst movies ever made and I got professionally involved with a manager who said it didn't matter what you did as long as you kept working. I wound up completely broke.

I'm not ashamed of being gay, never have been and never will be. For that I have no apologies.

My immediate family are from the West Indies - from Trinidad and Grenada - and I have relatives all over the Caribbean.

I don't have a ton of experience, because I date with the intent to marry... It's how I want a family and how I would want someone to treat my daughter.

Essentially, my parents directed me in the right path. They were all for me turning professional and starting that journey as a family with my golf career.

I went out on the road when I was 12 years old, playing with the Sullivan Family Gospel Singers. That was the summer of 1972. We played Pentecostal churches, camp meetings, George Wallace campaign rallies and bluegrass festivals. As a kid, I had grown up watching quartets that were very entertaining.
