Life wasn't easy growing up; it was frustrating. If I had been a better reader, then that would have come easily, sports would have come easily, everything would have come easily, and I never would have realized that the way you get ahead in life is hard work.

I was growing up in the 50's and 60's. Back then they didn't even know what dyslexia was.

Some people look gender non-conforming because they want to look that way - they don't want to conform to society's expectations.

I spent twelve years training for a career that was over in a week. Joe Namath spent one week training for a career that lasted twelve years.

When I look at it, I don't really like people, and socializing is really awful. Outside of my family, friends, and those connected to my job, I don't think I actively want to meet anyone. I've always lived in the country, after all.

I'm able to provide for my family and the people that I love with things that I never used to be able to. I'm getting to make music and work with amazing people. I just feel really lucky.

Before, back in the '50s, women didn't have as many rights as men, so they had to be that stay-at-home wife and take care of the kids all day. But now, with marriage, it's a partnership. It's not like this old traditional marriage that it once was.

Being Latina, I'm super close with my family. I love them, and I love spending time with them. I love being at my grandma's house and eating her food.
