Rachel Bilson, Nicole Richie, Vanessa Hudgens... so many of my idols growing up were Bongo girls.

Bullies have a soft spot, and mean girls have a reason to be that way. It's a matter of understanding why a person is the way they are.

I feel like I know I have enough friends who support me through those times. Like, I'll call a friend and be like, 'I really don't feel good about what I ate today,' and she'll be like, 'Dude, it's fine.'

In any job you do, you're going to have off days.

We're going to continue to focus on family comedies because that is something that our audience really comes to ABC for. But at the same time, we're going to push the boundaries of what a family comedy actually means.

The power of podcasting is pretty remarkable. It is such an amazing way to mobilize fans. It's almost like they're part of your family. They probably listen to you more than they listen to their own families. I know that's true for me. So there is a real bond there.

When I started, with films like 'The Bay Boy' and 'Stand by Me', I look back on those interviews and I'm amazed; there's no mention of my father; it's not even 'son of Donald Sutherland.' I caught a bit of a break in that it never felt like a weight to me.

I do Facebook, but I only have my friends and family on it, and they always laugh at me for how little I post. I don't know how to upload photos, so I never add pictures.
