Back when I was growing up, if I loved a song, I would record it off of the radio so I could hear them as many times as I wanted.

Growing up, I always considered the Grand Ole Opry to be hallowed ground.

A friend once asked me what comedy was. That floored me. What is comedy? I don't know. Does anybody? Can you define it? All I know is that I learned how to get laughs, and that's all I know about it. You have to learn what people will laugh at, then proceed accordingly.

Securing for gays and lesbians the basic right to have their relationships and families recognized as part of a community makes all of our communities stronger.

You have these relationships with people that you care about, but I also try to stick to my job as filmmaker and be fair and truthful about what I saw and my experience of the people, hopefully informed by a deep understanding of them.
