I remember, once I was stressed, with an upcoming paper deadline. That little Microsoft Word clippy guy would show up in my face, jumping around and asking if I needed help. It had no understanding of my emotions and had zero empathy. That got me interested in this idea of tech being responsive to our emotions.

I am a firm believer that transparency goes hand in hand with collective intelligence.

I do believe I have certain strengths as a female CEO, such as having another level of awareness through emotional intelligence.

The Internet is for haters. Everyone wants to knock somebody down, but it's cool.

For the average home-user, anti-virus software is a must. A personal firewall such as Zone Alarm and running a program like HFNetcheck, which is a free download for personal users. It checks your system to see if anything needs to be patched. I'd also recommend a program such as SpyCop to periodically check for any spyware on your system.

It's been amazing to step out of a bottle of ink on to an iPad. There's no better time than right now to embrace this fabulous sandpit of technology. Because intuitively, at the touch of a finger, most of it is possible.

I think I'm just really lucky to have my Internet career last more than a few months.
